The Black Farmers’ Market strives to create a space where Black farmers and entrepreneurs feel safe, supported, and valued. We make decisions consistently centering the voices and experiences of our members, partners, and staff as we work to grow and sustain the market.
We look for members who believe in our mission, goals, and vision. We prioritize Black farmers and producers and crafters/artisans who support Black farmers through their work. Applications for the 2023 season are now closed.
We thank you for your interest in becoming a BFM Trade Union Member!
“Hawk’s Nest Healing Gardens is the realization of a vision that my husband and I have been holding for years. On less than an acre of land we are raising chickens and organically grown vegetables, herbs, and medicinal plants. Being trade union members of The Black Farmers’ Market NC has boosted our sales and increased our exposure and customer base. Black Farmers’ Market has opened up many opportunities for our small farm. Most importantly, it creates a space for the community to access locally grown, fresh and healthy vegetables, fruits, herbs and other products. Healthy food equals healthy people and communities.”
